Barker claims Match Racing Cup

Dean Barker has completed a sensational five days on the Waitemata Harbour after completing a clean sweep over Bertrand Pace in the final of the Auckland Match Racing Cup.

The Team New Zealand skipper was aided by the Frenchman who in his own words had a "shocker".

Pace was penalised twice in the opening two races, effectively handing Barker a 2-0 lead. Barker then wrapped up the title in a tighter third race.
