Dying to be Thin
Auckland teenager Laura Beverley has spent the past six months at the Mandometer Clinic in San Diego to overcome anorexia. It's an unconventional treatment but one of its Swedish founders claims it has a 75%  success rate. Laura's family felt they had no option but to split their family apart to save her life. Her parents have taken turns staying with her in San Diego and spent tens of thousands of dollars to make their daughter well again. They share their story, along with an Auckland doctor who's daughter is undergoing the same treatment in Stockholm.

* The scientists behind the treatment, Dr Cecilia Bergh and Professor Per Sodersten, will be in New Zealand early next month. They will be holding two lectures on November 7, the first at the Clinical Education Centre at Auckland Hospital at 8am and later at Diocesan School at 5.30pm. A third lecture is planned for the following night at St Cuthbert's auditorium.

Teens and Booze
Do something about it! That's the public cry over teenage drinking and the impact of booze at parties and on the road. Today the Government claims it is doing something - cracking down on those who sell alcohol. If you're caught selling to underage customers three times your licence is gone. Meanwhile, there will be a zero alcohol level for anyone aged under 20 driving on a learner or restricted license. Associate Health Minister Damien O'Connor and ALAC chief executive Gerard Vaughan are live to discuss the proposed new laws.

Wheely Mad
Red Nicholson finds it's the little things that can make life difficult. Red's in a wheelchair and has become a kind of self-appointed namer and shamer of businesses that are wheelchair friendly - or not. Why should you care? Well the latest Census reports 20% of the population have a disability. Mark Sainsbury looks at things from Red's perspective.

Michelin Man
Catching up with Josh Emett, the former Hamiltonian who is running Gordon Ramsey's New York restaurant. He's just been awarded his second Michelin star.
