School teacher Theresa (Carrie McLaughlin) is married to police detective Pete (Craig Hall), and has a 16-year-old daughter Alex (Ashley Williams), who has the hots for Jodie's wayward teenage son Josh (Josh Leys).
Tree's the friend Jodie always turns to in a crisis. Her
only flaw (apart from being married to a cop) is that she tends to
be a bit of a martyr and put obligations and others' needs before
her own. Sometimes she resents this.
But she's very practical - a handy skill when you're helping your
friend dispose of her husband's body.
Unlike Jodie, Tree is happy in her marriage, although with
Pete's long hours as a detective, her job and being a good mum to
Alex, she's aware they're not as close as they used to
be.
Carrie McLaughlin as Theresa
Carrie McLaughlin has worked as a dancer and actor (Shortland
Street), as well as performing with the girl group The
Beatgirls.
She has also been a foley artist for the past 17 years, which has
included being part of the Oscar-winning sound edit team for King
Kong.
"I loved the scripts, the directors and the incredible line up
of exceptional New Zealand actors," says McLaughlin.
"And I love the fact that Theresa is one of four female 30-
something leads on a prime time TV series - that doesn't happen
very often."
