The second album from soulful songstress Brooke Fraser seems to be a popular Christmas present.
Albertine has debuted at number one on the music charts, and has already gone platinum since it went on sale last Monday. It has beaten U2, Westlife and Eminem for the top spot.
Albertine is the 60th number one Kiwi album since the charts began in 1975.
Fraser's single Deciphering Me is at number seven in its eighth week on the singles chart and also retains the number one airplay spot on New Zealand radio.
