Anti-smoking groups have lodged a complaint to the Commerce Commission over claims made on the website of a prominent tobacco company.
On it's website, British and American Tobacco says many claims against environmental or second hand smoking have been overstated.
But those opposed to smoking say that is at odds with much of the scientific evidence.
The Commerce Commission now has to decide if the tobacco company has breached fair trading rules by intentionally misleading, or causing the public to believe what is false.
