Police investigating the fatal shooting of a man outside a karaoke bar in Auckland hope to complete their scene examination on Sunday.
Tam Yam was shot in a carpark behind the Top Karaoke Bar, which he part-owned, on Thursday.
The 37-year-old, who was released from prison less than a year ago, lived in an apartment next to the building.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Benefield says it is hoped the occupants of five nearby apartments will be allowed to permanently return home today.
Benefield says police are still speaking to friends and associates to establish what he was doing prior to his death.
