Second seed Maria Kirilenko has been knocked out of the ASB Tennis Classic in Auckland on Thursday afternoon.

Kirilenko has lost the day's opening quarter-final 6-1, 6-3 to Austrian sixth seed Tamira Paszek.

Paszek says she was happy with her on court performance this afternoon. "I didn't miss many shots," she says, adding that she felt she had her rhythm today.

Kiwi teenager Marina Erakovic is next up on centre court.

The 19-year-old faces Russian top seed Vera Zvonareva for a place in the semis with nothing to lose against the world number 22.

Erakovic says Zvonareva obviously won't have the crowd with her so there's obviously some bonuses for her.

After that match is completed, tournament drawcard Lindsay Davenport meets Italy's Sara Errani.
