Competition was tough in the sweet world as 10,000 spectators rolled up to witness Dunedin's annual Jaffa race on Tuesday.
People turned up at Baldwin St, the world's steepest street, to witness the annual running of the Jaffas, a race which has become an important landmark in the city's Chocolate Festival Week.
Each of the 20,000 giant Jaffas in the race are numbered and sold for $2 - which all goes to charity.
They are taken to the top of Baldwin St and primed for the race of their life.
Everyone has their own theory on what makes winning confectionary.
"The fastest Jaffa is the one that is the most carefully rounded," says one of the women.
"Number seven, I think's going to win!," says one of the young boys.
"I've put a lot of study into it, and I think it's the coating" says a man.
Those that did not make the grade lived up to their name -
