So anyway, after telling you not to get too carried away with the situation in Valencia, what can I say now?
It is now quite obvious Emirates Team New Zealand are faster than Luna Rossa and they will soon be holding the Louis Vuitton Cup. It might be tomorrow - this final might not go more than five days. Extraordinary.
When you have two crews of equal ability the difference can only be in the speed of the boats. Ray Davies said as much after Race four. No longer can they try and deny the fact NZL 92 has got a speed edge over the Italians. It's there for all to see.
One Sport commentator Peter Montgomery and his expert analyst John Cutler are in no doubt. They could see it quite clearly from on the course.
Race four saw Luna Rossa take the boat end of the start line while Team New Zealand went left. Luna Rossa got the benefit of an early right hand shift, which they had predicted, and very quickly moved out to a 100 metre lead.
Things looked grim for New Zealand. The Italians were in a position from which they could take control. But Dean Barker and his crew patiently waited for the left hand shift further down the course. They got it, continued sailing higher and faster and soon the race was as good as won.
There are some grim faces around Valencia now. Those who predicted a Luna Rossa victory are looking as though they've sucked lemons. So too are those who desperately want the America's Cup to stay in Europe, but not in the hands of the current holders.
Sadly, it might stay in Europe but under the grip of Alinghi. That's a long way off yet.
In the immediate future we look forward to the winning of the Louis Vuitton Cup. Luna Rossa is down, if not quite out.
It certainly appears that very soon, for only the second time. A New Zealand crew will be the winners of the prestigious yachting silver trophy.
