A Kapiti couple's talent for writing erotic fiction is turning into a goldmine.
Cathy Sneyd and Brent Lewis have four kids, degrees in English literature, work in the IT industry and write erotic novels.
"I have a pretty active fantasy life, I'm sure Brent does too! I don't know if you need inspiration to think about weird and kinky sex, but I don't," says Cathy.
She says the couple tried writing an erotic novel to "see how it went" and it turned out that they enjoyed writing it.
They have gone on to write around 20 bodice-rippers and have secured a deal with a major international publisher.
Brent and Cathy write under the name Leda Swann and say their secret to success is a good plot and good characters.
The pair's next novel is released in New Zealand in August.
