Low decile school wins top award

Some young Auckland computer whizzes are celebrating a big win.

A low decile primary school has won an IT excellence award, for a project teachers say has transformed their childrens' learning.

Point England is a decile 1-A school, but its students are at the forefront of technology. For the past year they have been making podcasts for Apple's iTunes store, where they have found an international audience

The project has just been awarded the Judges' Prize at the Computerworld Excellence Awards. The school found out on their daily school news broadcast.
