The coroner has reserved his decision in the inquest into the fatal police shooting of Steven Wallace.
Wallace was shot while threatening to kill Constable Keith Abbot with a baseball bat in Waitara five years ago.
The inquest is probing police policies on violent offenders and first aid.
The lawyer for the Wallace family has two weeks to make his closing submission in writing and police lawyers then get time to reply.
Coroner Gordon Matenga says if he eventually makes any adverse findings, he will give an interim decision to the affected parties so they can respond before the results are made public.
