A new Governor-General's flag has been unveiled to mark the Queen's Birthday, 77 years after the original flag was commissioned.
The Governor-General ordered the new flag, after the old one was deemed too out of date.
It includes the Southern Cross, a fleece of wool, a hammer to represent the mining industry, and a wheat sheaf to highlight New Zealand's agriculture.
Anand Satyanand, the current Governor-General of New Zealand says the new flag has a resonance with the Pacific and the Queen.
The flag will be flown for the first time this Thursday at government house in Auckland.
