The next group of Castaways pitting their skill to win cash and celebrity status in the TV reality show could be heading to New Zealand.
Lion Television, the producers of the BBC show, intend to film the second series of Castaway on Great Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf
Department of Conservation spokesman Dale Tawa has confirmed DOC's processing an application for consent to film on the island for five months.
He says the the producers intend building a small village which will have a low environmental impact.
The first Castaway series was filmed on a Scottish island in 2000.
