Britain's latest terrorism plots haven't deterred tens of thousands from flocking to the new Wembley Stadium in London to pay tribute to the late Princess of Wales.

Almost 10 years since the fatal accident, The Diana Concert saw Princes William and Harry make their most public and personal appearance yet.

The event also saw Kate Middleton back in the spotlight. But it was still Diana who stole the show.

As the princes nervously took to the stage, they opened up to the public for the first time.

"This evening is about all that our mother loved in life... her music, her dance, her charities.. her family and friends," Prince William told the crowd of more than 60,000.

The princes handpicked performers to mark what would have been Diana's 46th birthday, including her favourite band, Duran Duran.

Many of Diana's friends paid personal tributes, including Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tom Jones.

Prince William and Harry have pledged that every penny of profit will go to their mother and their chosen charities.

Following the concert, the princes mingled with the performers at a celebrity-packed after-show party.

The brothers posed for photos alongside Kanye West and P Diddy. The four greeted each other warmly with Harry putting his arm over P Diddy's shoulder.

Kanye attempted to persuade the princes to put on the oversized white stripy shades he was wearing, but they jokingly declined.

Working the room, the brothers also chatted to actress Sienna Miller. William gave Jude Law's ex a kiss on both cheeks, while Harry bid farewell with an affectionate hug.

Joss Stone greeted both princes with a huge hug as they chatted about the night's events.

William thanked Take That for their set, telling them, "It was amazing".

Band member Mark Owen said afterwards, "They said it was great having you guys here and thanks for doing it. I think it's just been a really nice day."

Sir Tom said the princes had a great night. The Welsh star said after chatting to them, "They thought it was wonderful. I was so pleased to be part of this day. I was so glad it went so well."

He added that he thought that it was probably a very emotional day for the princes. "They wanted to do it and they pulled it off," he said.

William sipped a glass of champagne as he spoke to the artists, but Harry clutched just a glass of water.
