Stuttering
The media is often criticised for promoting the negative, for
scandalising things and for reporting only the bad side of life. We
want to celebrate the quiet achievement of a group of New
Zealanders. These Kiwis are not famous, they would rather stay out
of the limelight. We first met them a year ago when they were
starting a life changing course called the McGuire Programme. Now
they're back at the course, shining lights of what can be achieved
if you really want something. Corinne Ambler explains.

Dancing with Rodney
Rodney Hide tells us he's lost an incredible 23 kilograms this
year, living on the diet of dance. Each week he has to learn a new
routine, film a new show and campaign for votes. It's a taxing
regime and one that leaves little time for the work we pay for, as
a politician. Hansard stats reveal that this month Mr Hide's Act
party did not vote on 11 bills before Parliament. Jendy Harper's
been out on the campaign trail. Then the slighter and slimmer
Rodney Hide is in our Wellington studio to defend his political
performance.
Alain De Botton
When it comes to your house, are you a cluttered, cosy kind of
person or do you prefer something more stark and post-modern? Well
not only does your house tell us something about your budget and
taste, where you live can apparently also dictate how happy
or sad you are. Pop philosopher and author Alain De Botton has been
wrestling with these thoughts recently. Apparently it's not just a
matter of taste, the house we choose also says a lot about our
hopes, dreams and fears. Heady stuff indeed. Damian Christie has
the story.
