A man is in Christchurch Hospital after a car crashed over a cliff near Diamond Harbour early Wednesday morning.
The Mitsubishi Pajero was badly damaged when it fell 70 metres onto rocks at the water's edge.
The 23-year-old driver was winched up by the Westpac rescue helicopter.
He suffered what are said to be moderate injuries.
