The Green Party's attitude to National is warming and it is now amenable to sitting down and talking if the chance arises.
Prime Minister designate John Key says he wants National to have a relationship with the Greens and he says he intends having discussions with them in the near future.
Greens co-leader Jeanette Fitzsimons has not spoken to Key since the election but says they agreed a long time ago to work together on issues where there is common policy.
Fitzsimons says at the moment she has no idea what those issues might be but she says the Greens are open to talking if National makes contact.
