What are multi-billion dollar companies such as Google and Facebook
doing poking around in and compromising ordinary peoples' privacy?
And what about the dangers and obscene material on the internet?
What should our government do? What can we do ourselves?
Hosted by Damian Christie, this special studio show is presented by
TVNZ 7 in partnership with
InternetNZ and will debate one of the most
contentious topics surrounding the Internet today:
Safety and Privacy Online - whose responsibility is it?
Broadcast live and streamed across the Internet from TVNZ's Avalon
Studios in Wellington, the TVNZ 7 Internet Debate will analyse and
discuss online safety, privacy, use and abuse of social media,
government filtering, and censorship - pertinent topics of
interest to New Zealanders.
Pre-event workshops will be held at InternetNZ Wellington and
NetSafe Auckland on the day of the Debate.
This will be a simultaneous online and studio debate. New
Zealanders can interact with the debate both leading up to and on
the night using social media forums such as Facebook, Twitter and
Geekzone.
