Richard Lewis and Gordon Copeland should be jointly leading a new united religious party. Instead it has become the Christian version of pistols at dawn.
"There is a saying that for two to work together; walk together, they need to be in harmony and that really came to an end when I was blindsided," says Copeland.
Copeland was blindsided when Destiny didn't warn him it was announcing Lewis as co-leader during a live internet broadcast. Now Copeland wants Lewis gone.
"I think he has some things to offer the country but not as a co-leader. I'm not going to be leading a new Christian vehicle with Richard Lewis," says Copeland.
"I'm not sure where Gordon thinks he gets the authority to make that statement," says Lewis.
He is prepared to turn the other cheek.
"I am open to working together. I can get past it. I'm not easily offended," Lewis.
But it seems Copeland would prefer MP Taito Phillip field at his side - but he is facing bribery charges.
Field though may not be keen to work with him.
In a statement from his representative he says, "Gordon Copeland's
response is 'staggering' and questions whether he's just out to
destroy Destiny."
His statement was sent out by a PR woman who also works for Destiny.
There are also questions about just who is behind the new
Christina party.
It is headed by a council of religious leaders but it is not
known who they are.
Copeland says they will only play a behind the scenes, advisory role.
