Kids jump their way to national title

Hundreds of people gathered in Wellington on Saturday to watch teams from primary and intermediate schools around New Zealand battle it out for title of Jump Jam Kids Aerobix team.

Dressed up in costume - there were Shreks and Warriors - they jumped and jived to routines they'd had a role in creating themselves.

Paroa School from Whakatane won the senior section, Hilltop School from Taupo the intermediate section and Darfield School from Canterbury took out the junior title.

Nearly half a million children are involved in Jump Jam Aerobixs in schools, with more than 100 schools entering teams in this year's competition.
