Gwen Stefani has given birth to a boy and mother, baby and family are all happy according to their spokesman.

The couple named their son, Zuma Nesta Rock, who weighed 3.77 kilograms.

The pop star and fashionista already has one son, Kingston, with her husband Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani, 38, was propelled to worldwide stardom when the band she was lead singer for, No Doubt, released the album Tragic Kingdom in 1995 which sold 16 million copies.

In 2003 the band broke up, and Stefani launched a solo career. To date she has released two albums.

She played at Auckland's Vector Arena on her Sweet Escape tour in 2007.

There have recently been reports that No Doubt is back in the studio working on a new album.
