The third dimension's been explored by a Wellington band, who
have been mixing movies with music at the fringe festival.
Spartacus R has been wowing the crowds with a 3D show where red and
green glasses are compulsory.
"Its pretty psychedelic - it's uh it's something that hasn't been seen before," says Giles McNeil, a film-maker.
"What the band has done is come up with ideas - they've called them delusions - and they've written music to suit these delusions".
Spartacus R's history of rock-shows-with-a-twist has won them quite a following among fringe-fest goers.
And this year they invited the audience to don 3D glasses and go on a one-night-only trip.
Playing behind a screen playing basic video images but in 3D, without the 3D glasses does not look like much at all, but once you put on your glasses, its quite an experience.
"We like the whole package like if its music visuals as many as, to get the senses going is just better, we like it& and it's sort of not to distract them but to actually envelope them in the music," says Benjamin James, a band member.
Spartacus R's brand of music has not only be heard but seen.
