by tvnz.co.nz's Darren Bevan

As you already know there is of course, the new full length Star Trek trailer for the forthcoming JJ Abrams ( Lost, TV2 upcoming drama Fringe ) revamp of the franchise.

Wait, you say you've not experienced it in glorious HD yet? (Or want to watch it again - like many of us in the TV2 Movies office are doing)

But now some even more exciting news on the Star Trek front...

Even more exciting than taking  a look at the first shots of the 2009 film here and then view the teaser trailer here.

We've teased you enough....

There was a sense of disappointment that one vital piece of footage was left out in the full length trailer.

After the unveiling of four key scenes from the upcoming Star Trek film (beaming in on Stardate May 2009), there was much talk about how the original Spock - not the Zachary Quinto version - had made a brief appearance, uttering 4 immortal words from the Star Trek genre.

So there was a palpable sigh of collective unhappiness when the full length trailer regaled us with the new Chris Pine/ Zachary Quinto take on the Kirk/ Spock relationship but failed to provide any glimpse of Leonard Nimoy as the older Spock (known to be playing a major part in director JJ Abrams revamp)

That was until now.

The guys over at AintItCool News  have managed to secure a slightly remixed version of the trailer - thanks to director JJ Abrams and what they call "The Powers That Be" at Paramount....

With Leonard Nimoy as Spock making an appearance, urging us all to Live Long and Prosper.

As far as we can tell, that version of the trailer - and the inclusion of Spock himself - is all official and has been sanctioned by those in charge.

You can take a look here  - it's in High Def as well

Or if you can't access the highest quality version try here for other ways of looking.

All we can say is if that's a genuine clip of Spock in action, it just sent goosebumps up the back of our collective spines.

We wish May 2009 would warp in quickly!
