The host of the TV show in which Cabinet Minister Phil Goff made comments about helen Clark's leadership says the Minister's comments have been over-played.
Goff spoke of the potential for election defeat and contemplated being the next leader of the Labour Party during an interview on Alt TV.
"We're behind in the polls, we start in the underdog position, people think that there is time for a change. That happens after several terms, but it's a question of time to change to what," Goff said.
But the host of the TV show, Oliver Driver, says Goff's comments have been over-played.
Driver says Goff's comments have been blown out of proportion, and the NBR, who originally ran the story, has beaten it up.
"Sure there's a prospect that we might lose the election.
There's also a good chance that when people look at substance, look
at leadership, Helen Clark is head and shoulders above John Key,"
Goff also said in the interview.
During the interview Driver says Goff did actually say that
he likes the job he has now.
