Drysdale denies Aussie aspirations
Jan 27, 2008

Mahe Drysdale has denied that he is considering rowing for Australia at Beijing.

Drysdale can make the move if he is beaten out of a single sculls spot by Rob Waddell for the Olympic Games.

His father is Australian but he would still need permission from the New Zealand and Australian Olympic Committees as well as the IOC.

He asserted that there has been no contact with Australia apart from after the World Champs they jokingly suggested Drysdale name his price.

Rob Waddell beat Drysdale by half a length in the Cambridge Town Cup regatta to make it two wins from two in their head to heads.
