Janet McIntyre's story on drink driving sparked a lot of feedback from viewers.

Here is a taste of what we have received.

After seeing this programme on drink driving, I did not think this man had real remorse for the pain and grief he has inflicted on his victims, however treatment is one thing the desire to change comes from within, If he wants to change is dependence on alcohol and driving while drunk it's up to him to be part of that process. He should have got more than 10 years for the 4 people he killed and he should have been able to attend alcohol and drug treatment programmes a lot sooner into his sentence not at the end of his it. -  Richard

Tonight's feature regarding the interviewing of a recidivist drunk driver/killer was a bad choice. This man was clearly not at all sorry for what he had done and by interviewing him only gave him his 20 minutes of glory. Most New Zealanders would be disgusted by this man and his kind who continually kill and maim innocent people on our roads. As an ex prison officer i can tell you for a fact that only about 10% of this type of person ever feel any remorse for what they have done. The NZ govt and NZ judges need to get some BALLS and start putting these killers in jail indefinitely and give the Police more powers and discretion to get these losers off the roads. They are a scourge on our communities and don't deserve to be interviewed or glorified on our TVs. This man was clearly a liar and will kill again if released into our communities. It made me laugh to see him interviewed as he clearly didn't care at all about what he had done. My thoughts and sympathies go to the father of the man  whom he killed, his life will never be the same - Mike and Caroline

Alcohol levels are largely irrelevant to this group, halving or doubling the current level won't make them change their behaviour.  The Minister of Transport Safety has recently said that alcohol interlocking devices and tougher penalties for those that kill are not required. Our government is happy to recycle drunk drivers - Megan.

Congratulations  for the way you handled the interview with that low-life that had killed so many people during his drunk driving rampages.  Total professionalism girl, you are so smart !! PS My son is head injured from the likes of him.  Me and my son have a life sentence with no release date - Vanessa.

Does Inspector Cliff, the man who says driver training doesn't work, really expect us to believe that lowering the alcohol limit will stop serial drink/drive killers like your subject? All it will do is prevent normal people from sharing a bottle of wine with a restaurant meal. What will stop dangerous drink driving is rostering Police patrols on the roads at the time of most risk. Not, as presently happens, on day shifts to maximise speeding ticket revenue - Lou.

Why not a zero tolerance level? -  Craig
