National Front member appears in court
Mar 4, 2005 6:36 AM

A National Front member has been in court charged with what police call a racially motivated attack on a group of Somali youths.

Police say Nick Miller had an altercation with the youths in Wellington last June calling them "black monkeys."

It is claimed he ran off and returned with a gang of skinheads who attacked the Somalis, knocking two unconscious.

But the defence says it was the Somalis who assaulted Miller. Two complainants were unable to identify Miller as the attacker.

The Wellington District Court hearing is set down for three days.
