Making a cup of tea for your partner could one of the best ways to get in the mood, according to a recent sex survey.
The advice comes from the KY Intimacy survey which revealed New Zealanders enjoy sex, but struggle when it comes to setting the mood.
Five hundred women were polled, and not surprisingly, it found they want more romance. Nine out of 10 respondents said they wished they could spend more romantic time alone with their partners.
Relationship expert Suzanne Innes-Kent says one of the most romantic things one could do is suggest your partner put their feet up with a cup of tea. "Or relive some of the things you did when you were first courting."
One way to kill the romantic mood, Innes-Kent says, is talking about the bills. "Make a pledge to find out one new thing or important thing about each other without taking issue with it. Treat it like an interview with a film star," Innes-Kent says.
Which may be as far as it goes because 56% of women surveyed said they'd prefer to go to bed with their partners, with only 10% of women saying they would bed Hollywood heart throbs George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The highest rating Kiwi is juice man and celebrity Marc Ellis on 4%.
A confident 44% of women believe their partner's fantasy date would be with them. But 12% of women thought their partners would prefer "man eater" Angelina Jolie, and 7% of women thought their partners would like Eric Watson and Matthew Ridge's ex, Nicky Watson.
Most people say they still find their partners sexually attractive, and still have enjoyable sex lives. But faced with a choice of going without sex or losing weight, a whopping 93% would chose shedding some kilos.
