About TVNZ
TVNZ is New Zealand's national broadcaster. We operate four channels, TV ONE and TV2, and another two digital-only channels, U and TVNZ 7, which are broadcast through the Freeview and SKY platforms and two digital SKY platform only channels, TVNZ Heartland and TVNZ Kidzone24. TVNZ also runs an online "catch up TV" service called TVNZ Ondemand.
About 90% of TVNZ's revenue is gained through commercial activity such as advertising, licensing and merchandising and hiring out production resources. Approximately 10% of our revenue comes from government sources.
The company's Strategic Plan, titled Inspiring New Zealanders on Every Screen, emphasises our strong focus on providing viewers, consumers and customers with the content and services they want and expect from an important national institution, now in transition from a simple analogue broadcaster to New Zealand's leading television and digital media company.
