TVNZ Ondemand is no longer unmetered with any New Zealand internet service providers (ISPs) but TVNZ is in negotiation with ISPs to make TVNZ Ondemand available unmetered to their customers.
Viewing any of the streaming video content on TVNZ Ondemand will count towards your monthly ISP data allowance. However, watching TVNZ Ondemand video uses much less data than many people think.
The video that plays in this app is automatically optimised for the bandwidth you have available at any given moment. The highest video quality we deliver on this device is 800kbps if your bandwidth allows.
So if you consistently receive a stream of 800kbps quality, and you have a 10GB monhtly datacap, then you can watch around 80 half-hour shows* a month within your data allowance.
With a 20GB cap then you can watch at least 160 half-hour shows a month.* Yowzer!
