DECORATING
If you think of your garden as an extra room to your house, you can decorate it in the same way. Its a great way to give your property some personality.
Like a room, you should consider giving your garden a similar feel or theme to your interior decor. Just as you might decorate a lounge with colourful cushions, a favourite chair, or some knick-knacks on a shelf, you can decorate your garden in the same way with furniture, pot plants or feature lighting. With plain backgrounds its easy to change your decoration markedly without too much effort.
DO:
- Make sure your decorations tie into the theme of your garden.
- Keep it simple and be flexible the simple things are often the most effective.
- Avoid clutter dont have too much furniture. Choose a few key pieces that can stay outside.
- Use built in features that can also act as barriers to other parts of the garden. For example: A built in bench seat on a deck can separate the spaces effectively.
- Use potted plants, that can tolerate the conditions in your
garden, and that dont need too much maintenance. You can also move
these around to change the look of your garden.
