Well, after much anticipation and frantic fanfare, it's finally here.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is the second instalment of the Twilight franchise and has at last been unleashed on the world after months of fevered speculation.

So does it live up to expectations? Well, you can read tvnz.co.nz reviewer Darren Bevan's verdict here , but we wanted to know what you thought and you haven't let us down.

So what do you think? Overall, and perhaps a touch predictably, the majority of you seem think the movie is pretty darn good.

Bluejellybeans is certainly fulsome in her praise.

"That was BRILLIANT!!! I cried, i laughed, i swooned, the cg work was amazing, the actors have all grown up a bit and are really acting now, everything was improved& I would have to rate this as the BEST movie i have ever seen.

twinerd is certainly over the moon about the movie: "NEW MOON WAS AWESOME! Way better than twilight, kept me on the edge of my seat and they actually followed the book this time! The actors also made the characters more life like."

b3cks101 also thinks New Moon is "absolutely awesome" and was relieved to find the movie remained faithful to the book, keeping "all the really good bits". She also seems to approve of the wolf pack's buff looks.

"I was concerned the werewolves wouldn't 'size up' to the description in the book, but Taylor and his wolf friends really worked hard at their bods to look the part."

However, not everyone was a fan and Kary certainly isn't as impressed with the movie as most Twihards seem to be, describing it as "2 hours of my life I'll never get back,"

"The book was my least favourite of the four due to the absence of the Cullens, but I thought the movie would be able to bring them back into the story more. Instead they featured in the movie even less than in the book. I knew from the trailers that the whole atmosphere created in Twilight had changed& which doesn't lend much to the continuity of the story.

"I also knew from the trailers how fake and unreal the wolves looked& What I wasn't prepared for was how badly this movie would SUCK!," complains Kary.
Not content to leave matters there Kary also says she found the dialogue long-winded, droning and boring while feeling let down by the lack of on-screen chemistry between Bella and Jake.

Kary reserves her final flourish for the movie soundtrack which she describes as: "Another major fail. Half of it sounded like something from a cheesy 50's romance flick. I half expected the characters to burst into song and start dancing in some parts. Ugh!"

elysemills gets thing back on a positive track for The Twilight Saga: New Moon with another gushing review.

"WOW definitely a crowd pleaser for Twihards everywhere. Romance, Heartbreak and Action all rolled into one. The fresh characters created new depth and the special effects were top class. New Moon definitely raised the bar!"

And the final word goes to marycc who went to a Twilight double feature and says: "Rob can do no wrong, Kristen was amazing, Taylor impressed me. I love the role of Charlie! Cinematography, music, all just added up to one great movie. I loved it! Go! I am again 2day!"

lacked the atmosphere of twilight- perhaps the soundtrack wasn't as good ? the scene with the volturi was a case in point- too over the top. enjoyed the main cast (except jasper looks like a young frankie howard -ask your gran !) and please some fangs on the vamps. edward left bella to protect her from a blood-thirsty killing machine (jasper again!)-yeah right ! after the phenomenal success of the first movie i guess i just expected a bit more polish from the editing suite. TEAM EDWARD !

Kerre Woodham calls Edward a "Lady Boy"? Kerre girl - what planet do you live on? Read the book and watch the movies! Or look at it this way, an unknown housewife, mother & Mormon - writes a book with a new, fresh take on an old genre - mINUS the fangs, and coffins and makes themm beautiful. What results is an equally beautiful story!

My daughter and I also went to the midnight screening and loved the movie! It is true to the book, so of course I really missed the Cullens---can't get enough of them! And there was no chemistry between Kristen and Taylor---but then there is not supposed to be. I loved the added fight scene with the volturi and the "reunion" of Bella and Edward. It was worth the price of admission.:)

IMPRESSIVE! The book was quite dark and depressing, and seemed like Bella was brooding most of the time. I loved that the they were able to capture all the key parts, and put their own little spin on certain scenes... I loved when she slapped Paul...FUNNY!!! There's a part where Bella tells Jacob not to make her chose, because it wouldn't be him... It made her sound like a and diminished her character. Jasper! Legend... Funniest guy in the book! Yay! Team Twilight!
