New Moon director Chris Weitz says there is no one confirmed to take the helm of the fourth Twilight Saga film.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter (THR), Weitz says he has had no official offer to direct Breaking Dawn.

"The fans have been enthusiastic about the footage and the trailer (of New Moon), and the studio responds to that by feeling good about me," he says.

"We'll have to see how people feel about the entire movie, not only the studio, but the fans, before the verdict is out whether I direct Number 4.

"David Slade is doing a great job on the third film, and by the time that comes out, he'll be the flavour of the moment."

Weitz also told told THR that he and Twilight author Stephenie Meyer "got along like a house on fire".

"We've had a real good collaboration. Crucially, she approved me as director, and she didn't have to," he says.

Twihard fans will soon be able to judge for themselves how good a job Weitz has done with New Moon, when it hits theatres next month.

In the meantime, you can check out a newly released scene from New Moon, as well as some more pictures of the wolf pack and Volturi clan .
