Kellan Christopher Lutz was born in Dickinson in North Dakota on March 15, 1985.
He is the middle child of one sister and six brothers and started modeling when he was 13 or 14 years old.
He may never have made it to the Twilight Saga as Emmett Cullen.
After graduating high school he moved to California to attend Chapman University for chemical engineering, but later decided to pursue an acting career instead - apparently had he not taken this path, he also toyed with the idea of becoming a Navy SEAL.
He's had a variety of acting roles appearing in such diverse shows as The Bold and the Beautiful, CSI: NY, Summerland, Six Feet Under, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Heroes.
Lutz has strong ties to some of the Twilight cast - he hangs out
a lot with Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone both of whom he knew
before the film began filming.
