About the show
Leading New Zealand designer Tamsin Cooper and landscape design guru, Justin Newcombe host a unique new series for TVNZ Heartland, celebrating Kiwi's appetite and passion for handmade crafts.
From the internationally renowned Kiwi craft masters; to the exuberant hobbyist who can't get enough; to the environmental saviours turning trash to treasure and the meeting places where like-minded crafters gather to share and learn. Crafting knows no bounds as viewers discover over the course of this 13 part series.
With the rise in mass produced products, Kiwis have found a new appreciation for beautiful handmade designs. The popularity of hand crafting in New Zealand has been on the comeback for the last decade, with the rise of craft markets, blog sites and Facebook pages as places where crafters, come together to share their wares and ideas.
Join Tamsin and Justin as they create simple DIY projects in the studio that anyone can replicate at home.

Justin is a writer, painter, print-maker, object maker and garden designer.
Bought up in a creative family, Justin has always had a predisposition to making things.
After early forays into painting it was a love of photography that led him to study for a bachelor of visual arts in Auckland in the early 1990s. It was here Justin developed a love of the process of printmaking and graduated in this discipline.
Justin later worked as a press hand for Auckland artists Stanley Palmer and Roy Dellgano and in 2007, travelled to Nepal with New Zealander of the year Sir Ray Avery to design and build a palliative care garden in Kathmandu.
He has appeared on television in commercials and as a presenter for 'Use as Directed', as designer and landscaper on the popular 'Ground Force' series and as a regular guest on TV One's Breakfast.
Justin writes a popular weekly DIY and Garden column for the New Zealand Herald and has recently published his first book, The Kiwi Backyard Handbook.
Justin's current focus is on spending as much time as possible in his Auckland workshop creating everyday objects with an artistic twist.
