About the show
Haunting Douglas is the story of Douglas Wright, choreographer, dancer and artist.
The documentary is a portrait of Wright's life, through drugs,
alcohol, triumphs and illnesses.
It follows Wright's journey from Tuakau in New Zealand's Waikato region, where his father wanted him to grow up to be an All Black, to New York where he joined Paul Taylor's Dance Company and caught a deadly disease.
Haunting Douglas is a powerfully moving story which features a selection of Douglas Wright's best work and reaches the audience through his passionate use of words which is his new form of artistry, now that his body will no longer dance.
Haunting Douglas plays Saturday 4th December at 6pm on TVNZ Heartland
