Episode 8 - Crafty Queenstown

Tamsin Cooper - Hearts In Crafts

This is a fantastic episode in which we feature more talented New Zealanders who are making their creative passions an everyday reality.

In the studio Justin and I make a fabulous fabric covered bulletin board, this is a great project for personalising and beautifying an everyday object.

We meet Cynthia Baur of Living Light Candles www.livinglightcandles.com maker of beautiful candles from Golden Bay who is truely inspirational.

Share Schoenfeld uses the ancient craft of decoupage to create masterpieces from old furniture and fabric. www.fabricfacade.co.nz

The Design Tree www.designtree.co.nz  is the brain child of Tim Wigmore and Rebecca Asquith who design stunning award winning and sustainable light fittings.

I take you to possibly the most beautiful setting for a craft market in the world –  the shores of Lake Wakatipu in my old home town of Queenstown. http://www.queenstownnz.co.nz/

In this glorious setting we meet amongst others soap maker and author Rebecca Blackhurst whose passion for handmade soap and life is quite simply infectious! www.soapernatural.biz

As a wee wardrobe aside I have fun in studio wearing a very bright ensemble a skirt design of my own in a shocking hot pink silk complete with handmade roses. I also wear a gorgeous top from Queenstown designer Claire Bloom www.clairebloom.co.nz and of course my own accessories.

Out and about in Queenstown to combat a rather chilly lake wind, I wear one of my velvet coats and a lovely dusky pink vintage frock that I just had to have patterned with chrysanthemums…oh how divine vintage fabrics can be!
