TVNZ is New Zealand's leading television and digital media
company. We have two commercial free-to-air channels, TV ONE and
TV2, two digital commercial channels, TVNZ U and TVNZ
Heartland and one digital non-commercial channel,TVNZ 7. We also
have a significant online presence with tvnz.co.nz, providing
up-to-the-minute news, and entertainment. TVNZ Ondemand is our
online television catch up site, where New Zealanders can watch
their favourite shows whenever they want to.
With a heritage of over 50 years, TV ONE connects New Zealanders with each other and the world. It has a broad range of quality programming with a strong slate of news and current affairs, as well as sport. Over 50 percent of the TV ONE schedule comprises local shows. It also features international drama and entertainment, as well as a range of award-winning documentaries.
TV ONE's target demographic is All People aged 25-54.
TV2 brings you the best entertainment from New Zealand and the rest of the world. It has the biggest international programmes including the top shows from the US studios, and a selection of top quality local shows. The TV2 schedule comprises a strong line-up of engaging dramas, comedy and reality programmes.
TV2's target demographic is All People aged 18-39.
TVNZ U launched in March 2011.
Aimed at the 15-24 year old audience, TVNZ U is social TV, featuring reality and factual entertainment programming. TVNZ U can be found on Freeview channel 6 or SKY channel 16
TV ONE plus 1
TV ONE plus 1 plays exactly the same content as TV ONE, just an
hour later. It was launched on 1 July 2012, and
is available on channel 7 on Freeview, or channel 081 on
TVNZ Heartland speaks to the heart and core of New Zealand and provides a destination dedicated to the increasing number of New Zealanders who grew up with the 'early days' of television. They want to relive their favourite programmes and have access to other programmes they know they will like, be they from the last decades or the last year. It is a pay television channel on the SKY Platform, channel 17.
TVNZ Heartland's target demographic is All People aged
TVNZ Kidzone24 is a 24 hour pre-school children's channel which launched on 1 May 2011 on the SKY platform. TVNZ Kidzone24 is the only locally produced children's channel and features trusted educational and inspiring content in an advertising-free environment.
TVNZ Kidzone24 includes existing favourites including Kidzone with Morgan and The Wotwots, as well as new content with a learning focus.
The channel is located on SKY Channel 046, within the stable of
family channels and isavailable as part of the SKY Basic Digital
Package. Select content is also available on iSKY and TVNZ
TVNZ's website is New Zealanders' world of news and
entertainment. It is one of New Zealand's top sites*, providing
up-to-the-minute news updates and video footage, as well as a range
of entertainment including information about TVNZ's programmes,
message boards and interactive content.
TVNZ was the first broadcaster in Australasia to launch an online television catch up service. Since its inception in 2007, TVNZ Ondemand has continued to grow in popularity, with over 250,000** New Zealanders using the site every month to catch up on their favourite TVNZ shows.
