Boxing Day on TV2

TV2 presents a fun-filled day of entertainment this Boxing Day from 12pm:

12pm: Pearl Harbor
On a sleepy Sunday morning in December, as children played and families prayed, squadrons of Japanese warplanes screamed across the skies of a Hawaiian paradise and launched a surprise attack on the US armed forces at Pearl Harbor. The infamous day jolted America from peaceful isolationism to total war and altered the course of history. Starring Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting) and Academy Award-winner Cuba Gooding Jr (Norbit), Pearl Harbor relives this epic tale of patriotism, passion and romance. It focuses on the life-changing events surrounding December 7, 1941, and the war's devastating impact on two daring young pilots and a beautiful dedicated nurse.

4.45pm: Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events
When Violet (Emily Browning, Ned Kelly), Klaus (Liam Aiken, Stepmom) and Sunny Baudelaire (Kara and Shelby Hoffman) are orphaned, they are put in the care of their uncle Olaf (Jim Carrey, Me Myself & Irene). However, far from being loving and kind, Count Olaf is more intent on tricking the children out of their huge fortune. Fortunately the Baudelaire children are more than a match for the flamboyant Olaf!

7pm: Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone
Based on the first of JK Rowling's popular children's novels about Harry Potter, the live action family adventure film Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone tells the story of a boy who learns on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. Invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. At Hogwarts, he finds the home and the family he's never had.

10pm: Beowulf
A timeless epic tale of heroism and triumph, the legendary Old English tale of Beowulf is brought to life by Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express) with digital rendering and cutting-edge performance capture technology. Ray Winstone (The Departed) stars as the Scandinavian hero who faces an indomitable enemy alongside a stellar cast that includes Academy Award-winners Anthony Hopkins and Angelina Jolie, Golden Globe-nominees John Malkovich and Robin Wright Penn.
