2012 is here.

And that can mean only one thing....

New season on TV ONE .

To celebrate the dawn of the New Year, TV ONE's bringing the sizzle factor. We've got major treats lined up for you for the new season which will ensure you and your TV will never, ever want to part company.

It's a packed time ahead.

One new chef will rise above the rest (like an extremely successful souffle) in a bigger than ever new season of MasterChef New Zealand ; there's even more family drama in a brand new season of Packed To The Rafters as the family struggles to come to terms with the aftermath of the death of Melissa and Nina continues to deal with her family, her hunt for a decent love life and to keep her tendency to over-think and fly off into fantasy in check in a new season of Offspring.

A brand new season of Criminal Minds sees one familiar face returning to the fold of the BAU after the shocking conclusion to last season; the four girls of Winners and Losers continue their quest to negotiate life after high school and Kathy Bates continues to tackle crime in her own inimitable style in Harry's Law . Plus as well the return of the ever popular Martin Clunes in a brand new series of Doc Martin, we've got real life drama in fresh episodes of I Shouldn't Be Alive.

Plus one off New Zealand doco, Primeval New Zealand will make you think twice about Aotearoa as we trace the origins of the country.

But there's also some new contenders on the TV ONE block which we're sure will be set to be your new favourites.

The very latest show from the man behind Lost comes to TV ONE in the new season - Person Of Interest. Starring Emmy Award-winner winner Michael Emerson (Lost), a thought-provoking criminal drama about an eccentric billionaire who partners with an ex-CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) to prevent violent crimes. Emerson plays Finchy, a billionaire whose unlimited assets allow him to continue a surveillance project he invented for the US Government after 9/11. Whether these persons of interest are potential victims or criminals is up to Finch and his sidekick, mysterious former agent Reese (Jim Caviezel) to find out.

And you won't believe the stunning Frozen Planet, capturing our animals in a way you've never seen before. In the ends of the earth, Frozen Planet takes viewers on an extraordinary journey across the polar regions of our planet, North and South. The Arctic and Antarctic are the greatest and least known wildernesses of all magical ice worlds inhabited by the most bizarre and hardy creatures on earth. Presented by Sir David Attenborough and with some breathtaking moments offered up by nature, Frozen Planet is appointment TV.

There's so much more to come - you'll just have to stay tuned to TV ONE to find out more.

So, Facebook your friends now and tell them not to invite you out - because TV ONE's looking hotter than ever for 2012.

And don't forget you can catch up with all your favourite shows for free on TVNZ Ondemand!
