Visitors to the United States can kiss goodbye to hunting for a pen and filling out arrival cards on landing, but they'll be required to complete a new online security screening, before they travel.

In addition to fingerprinting on arrival at US immigration, the new electronic system requires visitors to provide personal information before purchasing airline tickets.

Three hundred thousand people have already been approved for travel to the US under the new system which will be mandatory from January.
