Thousands of travellers are stranded as Tahiti's international airport remains closed by ongoing strike action.
FAAA International Airport in Papeete has been closed for four days, as fire fighters are striking.
Fire fighters have been on strike since Friday.
Air New Zealand says about 200 of its passengers are currently affected by the strike, but the next flight out is not scheduled till later this week.
One customer says they showed up for a flight to Tahiti in the weekend, not having been told it was cancelled.
Air NZ says it's offering customers the option of re-booking another flight, or claiming a refund - but conditions apply.
Air Tahiti Nui in Auckland says three flights to Tahiti have been cancelled and 27 flights have been cancelled network wide.
General manager Mark Hutchinson says around 2000 of their customers are stranded there.
He says the Tahitian government has set up a hotline with the latest details of the strike.
Hutchinson says as this is out of airlines' control, customers need to look to their insurance companies for compensation.
