Jetstar has announced it is expanding its trans-Tasman operations and will run direct flights from Auckland to Melbourne and Cairns.
Daily flights to Melbourne will start in December, while the three times weekly Cairns flights will kick off in April.
Auckland Airport's chief executive Simon Moutter has praised the moves.
"These new Jetstar services fit extremely well with our strategy to drive more tourism into New Zealand."
Jetstar has also announced it will run more Auckland-Wellington flights, rising to 24 times weekly from October 31.
