Conservation, awareness of indigenous cultures and sustainable business practices will be on the agenda as eco-tourism hits the spotlight at a conference in Alice Springs from Monday.

The Global Eco conference brings together delegates from countries who are setting world's best practice in the sector.

The event, at the Alice Springs Convention Centre, is Ecotourism Australia's 17th annual conference.

Delegates will examine best practice across sustainability, ecotourism, tourism in protected areas and climate change response.

Critical new research, policy and best practice case studies will feature at Global Eco.

The conference concludes on Wednesday.
