Rachel Lang - Co-Creator, Writer, Executive
Producer
Rachel is one of New Zealand's most experienced television writers
and has executive produced and co-created many local series.
She is co-creator, writer and executive producer of Outrageous
Fortune.
She is co-creator and exec producer of
Go Girls
for
TV2 , with a third
series currently in pre-production. Also in production is The
Almighty Johnsons.
Rachel was show runner and head writer on Maddigan's Quest and
co-devised (with Gavin Strawhan) the award winning television
series Mercy Peak. She was executive producer and head writer
on all three series (60 episodes).
Rachel worked on
Shortland
Street
for nine years. She was the show's first
NZ story editor from 1992 - 94, and wrote numerous scripts for the
series. From 1995, she continued her creative involvement as
executive producer until 2000.
Rachel co-created Jacksons Wharf, and co-created and script edited
three Lawless telefeatures.
She has also written for CBBC in Britain.
Rachel has had a varied background in the broadcast industry, also
working as an actor, journalist and film reviewer.
