Vampire Diaries good guy reveals his darker side
We know Stefan hasn't always been the good guy and, in this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, we find out just how bad he can be, as Stefan confesses to Elena about his darkest days.
In an interview, Paul Wesley revealed just how much he enjoys playing "bad" Stefan.
"He's a drug addict. I get to play a drug addict, which I love.
I'm going back to his days of usage, heavy usage," he
says. "You get these flashbacks and it's like [roar]. I
get to get in there and have fun."
Paul explains that his own darker side is the reason he enjoys
playing Bad Stefan so much, jokingly admitting he has "a
sociopathic side!"
At ComicCon recently, Paul confessed he's a little jealous of
Ian Somerhalder getting to be the bad guy and getting the best
lines.
"Damon get's all the funny lines. He gets to do that thing that he does with the eyes and the sarcasm." he joked. "At the table readings, I'm like, god, I'm being serious again."
Joking aside, Paul says he admires Stefan's heroic side,
"Stefan's a hero and I think there's a beauty to that. I love
playing Stefan."
But does that mean that Stefan will always be the hero? Paul
suggests that Bad Stefan could always make a reappearance.
"I always feel he's like a soda bottle that's been shaken," he
says. "I just feel like if something happens and Stefan flies off
the handle, which is so inevitable, it'd be crazy if he just sort
of became consumed in this dark side with no guilt, just committed
to it."
