Bringing you a seasonal treat to fill your stocking, TV2 presents The Great Kiwi Christmas Comedy Gala, a fast paced, two-hour showcase of hilarity, with the hottest comedy talent from New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, USA and the United Kingdom.
Bursting with Christmas cracker goodness, The Great Kiwi
Christmas Comedy Gala will be hosted by local comedy legend
Brendhan Lovegrove.
Lovegrove can't wait to take to the stage. "I am stoked to be
hosting this gala - and stoked they think I'm funny enough to do it
- it's an honour to be the talent wrangler for this special
Christmas event. We have an exceptional line-up, with some
incredibly talented comics and a night of great gags ahead of
us."
Joining Lovegrove on the Auckland stage are more than 12 top-notch comedians, including fellow Kiwis, Jeremy Elwood and Michele A'Court. Michele reigned as New Zealand's Best Female Comedian from 2002-2007, while Jeremy is also one of New Zealand's most successful stand-up comedians.
Returning to New Zealand for this special show is the aptly
named Jarred Christmas, a regular performer on UK and USA
television and radio.
Also spreading the Christmas cheer will be Australian Wil Anderson,
GQ 'Comedic Talent' Man of the Year and smash hit of the 2009
Crunchie Comedy Gala, and perennial favourite American country
western star Wilson Dixon.
Irishman Jarlath Regan and leading female comedian on the UK circuit, Zoe Lyons, also make an appearance.
