In this first episode the panel review Audrey Niffenegger's
novel Her Fearful Symmetry. You can listen to her read from the
book
here.
She's best known for her hit novel The Time Traveler's Wife - and
some of you might have got to see her during the Wellington
International Festival of the Arts Writers and Readers Week last
year. David Larsen's write-up, including Ms Niffeneger's idea that
writers should have a 'grooviness index' (yes!) is
here.
Her Fearful Symmetry is a novel very much in the Gothic tradition,
complete with identical twins, a ghost, romance, obsession - and a
shuddery twist.
For what the panel made of it,

show.
Ms Niffenegger has written an interesting 'author's note' which
can be found in the back of some editions. Sorry I can't find a
link but it sheds some light on her composition process with this
book - check one out at your local independent bookstore.
