About The F Word
This series is currently off-air.
This year's F Word has an exciting new mission: the nationwide search for The F Word's Best Local Restaurant.
The nation's favourite food show celebrates the very best of Britain's independent local restaurants and seeks out the highest quality food at affordable prices with the help of nominations from 10,000 restaurant goers across the country.
18 fantastic restaurants in 9 different categories (Italian, Indian, French, Chinese, Spanish, Thai, The Americas, British, Rest of the World) have made it into the series. Each week, the top two will face the challenge of cooking with Gordon in the F Word restaurant for 50 paying diners. The best restaurants will compete for a place in the grand final, with the winning restaurant being crowned The F Word's Best Local Restaurant 2010.
Gordon and his team travel around Britain looking for brilliant local restaurants serving food from all over the gobe, before inviting the best two to cook in the F Word restaurant.
The brigades need to win over as many diners as possible if they are to secure a place in next weeks semi-finals, where the top 6 restaurants on the leaderboard will be battling it out for a place in the grand final of the search for the F Word's Best Local Restaurant.
Meanwhile, Gordon uncovers the secrets of cuisine and Janet
Street-Porter explores the world's delicacies, and Gordon is joined
by special guests.
You can watch the last series of The F Word on Saturday mornings
at midday on TV ONE.
The F Word:
Ramsay's food magazine show is big, bold and fast-paced, fuelled
by the irrepressible energy and passion of its host. A typical menu
might include three Ramsay recipes - every dish something viewers
can cook at home; Gordon teaching a home cook how to make the most
important meal of the week - Sunday Lunch; a visit to Gordon's back
garden to meet the pigs he's rearing to teach his kids the
difference between pets and food; consumer stories that tell us
what we need to know about the food we buy; and celebrity foodies
throwing down the gauntlet and inviting Gordon to better their
favourite dish in the recipe challenge.
Gordon is joined in the kitchen by brigades made up
from ordinary life people, who line up to experience the
white heat of Ramsay's presence as they face the awesome challenge
of cooking and serving a three-course dinner for a restaurant full
of diners.
If they don't cut the mustard it's Ramsay's reputation that's on
the line, especially as they're cooking for paying customers who
will only pay if they think the food's worth it.
Gordon Ramsay:
Gordon Ramsay is one of the UK's most famous chefs. He is one of only three chefs in the UK to maintain three Michelin stars for his restaurant and, in fact, the first Scot to attain this achievement. He has created numerous television shows and books about food for both the UK and America, and was recently given an OBE on the Queen's Honours list for services to the hospitality industry.
All profits from the F Word Restaurant are donated to the
Tourette Syndrome (UK) Assocation.
